Beyond ex gay
Not that it was all bad: Some of us received positive help through our ex-gay experiences. If stream hiking was all I did for the rest of my life, I would be content. So often healing comes through community and through sharing our stories and experiences with each other.
In my journey I began to realize that I needed help with beyond issues. Write out your story (ies), connect with other survivors, post photos and videos, participate in community discussions and join various groups based on your interests or the ways you attempted to change!
We previously launched a survey to gather information on people who have been involved in sexual orientation change efforts SOCEand we have just released the preliminary results. We grew to understand our sexuality better and in some cases even overcame life-controlling problems.
For us such a lifestyle was not possible nor healthy. We have begun to implement strategies to let others know the realities and damaging effects of ex-gay and religious abuse. Your voice counts! Our kinship in this journey gives us the opportunity to hear each other deeply, particularly in a world that sometimes scoffs at the many things we have gay softcore movies to change or contain our same-sex attractions and gender differences.
We have started a community networking and forums site for ex-gay survivors and we'd love for you to join us. It’s frustrating when stores use the wrong letters for their sites, like KountryKitchenDotCom, or QuikMartDotOrg.
This is your space to connect with other survivors, read survivor narratives and to share your own. But first, there's a few things you should know. My ex-gay experience ultimately lead me to getting my doctorate of education in sexology.
We need your help to do this. We are still in a process of recovery from the damage. Who can figure that out? The survey is still open and we'd like to hear from as many people as possible. We believe that ex-gay experiences cause more harm than good. Beginning with the founding of Love In Action and Exodus International in the mids, the movement saw rapid growth in the s and s.
Beyond Ex-Gay is an online community and resource for those of us who have survived ex-gay experiences. The ex-gay movement consists of people and organizations that encourage people to refrain from entering or pursuing same-sex relationships, to eliminate homosexual desires and to develop heterosexual desires, or to enter into a heterosexual relationship.
Many of us have found healing, wholeness and understanding through facing our pasts. The ex-gay process transformed me into a joyless, uptight, frustrated drone of a man, growing more and more distant from God despite the many hours of daily prayer and Bible study.
Through sharing our stories with each other, we find wholeness gay healing. I objectified people and their bodies as sexual objects. All rights reserved. So often healing comes through community and through sharing our stories and experiences with each other.
But for most of us, these experiences brought us inner turmoil, confusion, and shame. Beyond Ex-Gay is an online community and resource for those of us who have survived ex-gay experiences. Certain people who currently identify as ex-gay say they are content as such.
